Custom Delica4 Cocobolo by Roman 'MyKnife'

#1

Post by cougar337 »

I thought I would share a custom handle I had made by Roman from the Czech Republic which goes by 'MyKnife' here on the forums and you can check out his other customs on his website http://www.spyderco-noze.cz . I asked him to fashion a Delica 4 with Cocobolo wood handles after seeing what he did with an Endura here. I got my Delica in the mail just last week and I was floored by the quality of workmanship and how beautiful it turned out.

EDIT: Roman has a new website http://www.customspyderco.com/ Check it out

Roman was kind enough to take pictures of making the Delica at my request since this is my first custom and it really shows the pride and dedication he puts into his work. He was always in constant communication with me and giving me updates. The Delica 4 started out as a G-10 version. here's a few pictures of him working on the knife:

Beautiful! Love the wood.
Now, the liners are not inlayed, how does the extra thickness feel?

To me it feels perfect. It fills the palm nicely and it is very smooth.

Looks great. Cocobolo is a beautiful wood. It takes some care to work with as it's toxic. Definately don't want to breathe any cocobolo dust in or get any splinters while you're working it.
