#1

Post by BeefTips »

Hey guys,

I finally got some 550 para cord to play with and decided to post a pic of my first try. Here it is with my new Manix 2. :)

Cool, very good for a 100th try, let alone a first. Well done, and a great knife too. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks Doc. I have been lurking for some time and decided it was time to get more involved. I hope to take some pics of my modest Spyderco collection and get them posted this weekend.

Welcome to forums,I have a question and i have never asked this before is a paracord or lanyard for cosmetics or does it aid in pulling the knife out of the pocket?

I know that I like the looks of the paracord. I am not an expert yet on how useful it actually is on the knife. I definitely see that having a paracord lanyard on a keychain or knife could come in handy if you find yourself in a position where you need rope. The lanyard I made has about 7 feet of paracord. I also think that having a lanyard on a small knife could help make it easier to handle (the Manix 2 doesn't need any help being easy to handle, but it does have a big inviting lanyard hole).

That's a nice lanyard - much better than mine... this is sort of off thread, but I've gotten interested in making some lanyards for my knives, but I's seriously "knot-impaired". I can't figure out how to tie anything but the simple hangman knot  . I have all the instructions and watched videos. My kids laugh at me since they look at it once and can do it...so, they are making mine. One cool thing is that Im using reflective tent guyline cord for mine and they really light up with a little light!
