FRN Cricket sprint run?

#1

Post by catamount »

I recently got my first Cricket; the etched SS version. I now understand why many here are so fond of this LBK. The reverse S blade eats clam packs, and other troublesome packaging material, for breakfast.

Etching definitely improves the appearance and grippiness of the scales, but I'm just not that fond of SS as a handle material. I'd like to see a sprint run of the FRN version, in a color other than black (as always, blue gets my vote). VG-10 works fine for for me, although an H1 Cricket Salt is another interesting possibility.

What say ye, fellow forumites?

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I'd like to see one of those, so I can stop using my old ATS-55 Cricket. Maybe a fancy colored handle while we're at it. Blue would be nice.
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

More like Mid-Cal now

I pestered about a run of FRN Crickets for a while. Sal indicated that there was not a real good chance of it happening. I believe he said that before another frn Cricket was produced the design would need tweaking. If they did invest in redesigning for a Cricket 2 FRN, I would definitely pick one up.

Yea, I love the Cricket, I would be in for one. Especially if it was a back lock.

A new FRN Cricket is also what i wish. With colored handle: burgundy, orange or blue. Or what about brown?

I would most certainly buy one. Regardless what colour.

As long as...

But I would be a happy man already if Spyderco would do a sprint run of etched handled Crickets with serrated blades. Count me in for at least 2 :)

I guess this wouldn't cost all that much and regarding the various posts I'm not the only one on this ;)

+1 on a FRN or G-10 handle Cricket (in any color). That and a wire clip would be awesome.

I'd be interested in a dark red or even a white version. Dark blue sounds appealing as well.
