Spyderco and Vancouver, B.C.

Post by Tinkerer »

Hello Canadian friends. I will be travelling from the states and have 2 questions.

1) Can you recommend any dealers in Vancouver or North Vancouver with good selections of Spydercos?

2) What are the carry laws? Will I have any problem carrying my Native in my pocket?

Thanks

A weapon in Canada is defined by intent, so if you act civilised, you're fine to carry your Native.

The widely accepted law is basically: 4"=on the belt, 6" max on belt...

clip as you know does not mean concealed, so it's always safe to carry spydies.

Not the best prices in town, but a big selection can be found at the Metrotown Mall "House of Knives". The HoK in West Van./North Van (Park Royal Mall)is OK too. Be prepared for prices just below MSRP, although I have had a few good deals in the past. With the Canadian $$$ the way it is, they will probably not have the higher end s in stock.

The Native will not be a problem with the local constabulary (only a problem in a courthouse). However, if I stop you on the street. I will proceed to talk you ear off about knives and MBC, which could be seen as a problem if you are in a hurry.

Hope you enjoy your visit.
