I live in Washington State, are there any other locations for the MBC other than Colorado? In particular, closer to home? Thanks.

Hi, argonz--welcome to the Forum:

The regularly-scheduled Spyderco MBC series is taught in Golden, but Mr. Janich has been willing to 'take his show on the road', so-to-speak.

These seminars are arranged w/Janich himself, not through Spyderco, so you can email him directly with your inquiry (modtempest@aol.com) and see what y'all can set up.

Good luck,
Vince

Dear Argonz:

Thanks for your inquiry.

Joseph Simonet of KI Fighting Concepts in Wenatchee, WA is a good friend of mine and has offered an opportunity for me to teach an MBC Level 1-2 at his school sometime this fall. If you or anyone else in the northwest would be interested in such a class, please let me know so I can get a better idea of the level of interest in your region.

Thanks again for your interest in MBC.

Stay safe,

Mike, that would be great. I can think of a few right off that would be interested in attending a class. How many would you need to schedule a class? I would be more than happy to help any way I could. Thanks.

Mike, let me add that Wenatchee is only 36 miles away from where I live. If I can be of service, you may contact me at argonz@nwi.net. Thanks.

Dear Argonz:

I'm glad to hear that you're so close to Wenatchee. Joseph Simonet's school is awesome and typically boasts 100-150 active students. It is a perfect location for an MBC class.

To provide personalized instruction, I like to keep MBC class sizes small -- 20 or less. At the same time, we need to make sure that we have enough people to cover all associated costs and allow me to bring something home to my family. Between you, your friends, and Joseph's students, we should have no problem making all this happen.

Anyone interested in expressing their interest and/or reserving a spot in the class (or if you're interested in getting involved with one of the best martial arts programs in the northwest), please contact Joseph Simonet or Addy Hernandez at KI Fighting Concepts, 509-662-7983. The more interest we can generate, the sooner we can pick a date.

Thanks again for your interest and your offer to assist in setting things up. I received your direct e-mail, but hope that this posting answers all your questions adequately. If not, please feel free to drop me another line.

Stay safe,

Mike, any news on whether you will make it to Wenatchee this year? Just curious.

Depending on the dates, you'd have a few from Vancouver coming down for the event. Maybe the guys from Eastern WA will join as well. Greg? Frank? <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Dear Argonz (and everyone else):

Due to some other commitments, I won't make it to Wenatchee this year. However, to avoid making you wait too long, I have been talking to Joseph Simonet and made a plan to conduct an MBC seminar in February 2002. I'm confirming the dates and exact curriculum with him now and will post all the details as soon as they become available.

Thanks for your interest and patience.

Stay safe,

I am interested in training in the NW if a class is put on.

Michael,
Check out "Firearms Academy of Seattle" in Washington state. That would be an excellent place for hosting training, they have guest instructors there every year.

Dear Kevin:

Thanks for the suggestion. I've visited FAS before and had the chance to work a bit with Marty and Gila Hayes during the shooting of a Jim Cirillo video. You are correct that they are excellent instructors operating an outstanding facility. I'll keep that in mind...

Stay safe,
