pimped my Delica with green G10

#1

Post by uncleknife »

I have read a lot of posts here, over the last few years, about Tom Krein & his grinding skills.

I finally got the money together to have him work on my Delica with green G10 & flat ground blade.

He ground a splinter picker tip & beveled the spine (like that on a Calypso Jr.)

Holly Cr@p !!! this is a cross between a super-powered Calypso Jr. & a lightsaber.

Tom does amazing work, well priced, super-quick turn around time & it looks like it would have come right from Spyderco's factory.

Now I need to save up to have my R2 done & maybe my Kopa & my Caly3's.

It would be great to see another example of Tom's hard work. Congratulations on your newly modified knife!

Sorry, It took me a while to get the camera.

This is my first time using photobucket, so I hope this works.

I LOVE this knife, the scales are beveled & is so comfortable & with the blade's spine, it's an optical illusion, but the bevel makes the blade stock seem so much thinner.

I have had Tom flatten the spine and regrind my Police 3 and Endura ZDP, and STR flattened the spine of my R2. The splinter picker tips of the Millie and my first Spyderco, my Endura 3, made me fall in love with fine tips, so any knife I have with a dropped point which makes me instantly want to send the knives to Tom Krein for work. It is amazing how a fine tip adds to the performance of a knife. After Blade my Pacific Salt, Endura Wave SE, and Caly 3 ZDP are going in for regrinds, with the Salt getting the splinter picker tip treatment, and all getting thinner edges with full flat grinds.

That's one nice looking knife there. Tom certainly does beautiful work and I really like the beveled spine. I'll bet it's pretty cool having a one-of-a-kind Spydie, huh?
