My 3 Favorites

So, I own a short (compared to many of you) list of Spyders -

Delica 2 PE
Calypso Jr.
Endura 3 SE
Salsa PE
Merlin SE
Tenacious SE
SS Cricket SE
Urban Leaf PE

The three that seem to compete for the pocket now are the Tenacious, Cricket, and Urban. I just thought I'd share, since they are three VERY different knives. I find it interesting. They all feel great in my hand, I guess.

Hi BMBob,

Welcom,e to the Spyderco forum and thanx much for the support.

Each knife company kinda specializes in certain areas of the industry. Everything from one extreme to the other.

We focus on providing safe reliable high performance. Whether we're making an undercover "nasty" for our guys in the trenches, or making cute litle slippies, we feel that ergonomics are critical. Designs are refined many times to reach that "form" that will be contollable and comfortable in the human hand. An "edge" is a great tool, but there is always the possibility of accidental cutting. This is best eliminated with as much control over the edge as we can provide.

3 favorites.. Wow.. That's a hard one... I love the new S90v mili... The Lum Chinese folder in Zdp189 is also a great knife... I'd have to say however my all time favorites are the Delica wave full serrated.. My Dyad Jr... and Endura 4 full serrated.. There is not a sharper or longer lasting folder on the market than a Seki Production fully serrated Frn Spyderco :D Mike

Endura & Delica are definitely the top 2, but the 3rd constantly changes. If you asked me right now I would say my Krein handled 52100 Mule. Several months back I would of said my Kris. Go back a few years and it would of been my Jot Singh Khalsa. Fast forward to whenever & it might be the Warrior.

It's not that there are too few choices, just too many good knives to choose.

Easy decision...

Paramilitary (which I no longer own.)
S90V CF Military, my current EDC.
Lil' Temp. Trailing Pt. or Leaf blade, usually carried on the weekends.

Need to get D2 Para this summer if they're still around...

Wow this is really hard.

Caly3 CF ZDP
Meerkat Reverse-S
Native 3

They are ALL great EDC's for me and ALL have wire clips. The wire clips are paramount in my book but if I were to choose beyond that I would say:

Delica4 ZDP
Paramilitary
Phoenix

and although I EDC all of these the ones with the wire clips tend to ride in my pocket more. Being a bigger guy I tend to scrape up against walls and getting into the car I have scratched up the paint pretty bad  with other style clips. Wire clips I don't nearly have this problem with them being rounded. The Hour-Glass shape of the Delica4 is a close 2nd if I were to choose a solid clip. ;)

Huh, interesting thread that's got me thinking

Im my pocket the last month, in rotation for EDC

Sage
T-Mag
Delica 4

I've actually backed up my Sage and T-Mag by purchasing a second of each! The Delica 4 has too many variations currently

For me its the UKPK, Superhawk CF, and the ATR. The UKPK because its my current EDC, the Superhawk CF because its awesome, and the ATR because I think its the ideal harduse folder.

I would have to say out of my non Kreined folders my Superhawk, Caly 3 CF, and either my CPM D2 Millie or Manix would be my third. All fill different roles, and the Superhawk and CF Caly 3 are my 2 favorite folders ever, in that order but it is very close. The Superhawk is a great super tough EDC that cuts great, and the Caly 3 CF is a wonderful EDC that is more on the precision cutting side, but with tremendous edge holding and capable of much heavier cutting than a lot may think.

This is easy for me (right now):
#1 CF/S90V Military
#2 Superhawk
#3 CF Walker Sage

I love my other knives but these three are just the "cream of the crop" in every way and cover almost every carry need.

i could pick three favorites, although it would depend quite a bit upon the task... meaning, well... i can't just pick three favorites.

although i'm inclined to say CHOKWE, CHOKWE, CHOKWE!

I don't yet have a few knives that I'm betting could challenge for spots in my top 3.
