For you guys recovering from back surgery, good luck and heal fast. I had some major issues with my right leg (13 surgeries) and it seems all my hospital room mates were back surgery patients and they always seemed to have it way worse than me. I feel for ya!

Anyway, I guess my ultimate would have to be the Military. It's just the best all-around knife that feels and works the best for me. To be specific, my CF BG-42 is my favorite out of all of them and I REALLY cannot wait until the new orange G-10 one comes out!

Close seconds for me would also be the D4, Kris, C83 Persian and Khukri (gotta love Schempp's designs).
I prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
I LOVE MY MILLIES

There is always forensics. I hope you become pain free soon! Been there, done that, didn't want the T-shirt. :(

As for my ultimate Spydie, I would have to say the CF S90V Military.

You are a policeman, and suffered a potential career ending injury on the job, is that correct?

It is very difficult for me to single out one of my Spydies and say that it is the best knife. However, if forced to pick, I would choose an S90V CF Military. I have yet to find a knife that surpasses the Millie for quality, ergonomics or blade steel variety.

I'd still love a FFG , G10 police PE, with a ZDP blade. Ground thinly. :) Joe

Now that sounds very nice to me, Joe. The thinner the better!

My ultimate Spyderco would be a Ti framelock with G10, and made in Golden. Military or Manix style.
I wonder if this will ever come true. Hope so! :D

They have yet to build the "Ultimate".

In 1st place (so far) would be the Stretch II

Followed by (in no order) the S90v Military, Dodo, Yojimbo, LG Manix, Lg Persian & ZDP Lum.

This may sound strange, but I would like to see the Stretch II morphed into a series like the Kopa. 18 scale styles! That would be cool............ (to me)
I can see it now, a Fossilized Mastodon Stretch II........... Black Micarta Stretch II, Abalone Stretch II..... Tusk.. etc...

Or anything with a 3 1/2"+ S90v, M4, ZDP 189 - blade made into a custom series.

Would really like to jump into the Kopa's.
But I rarely carry anything that small........
So, here I am on the side lines.......

Again, just my 2............

I know there is lots of pressure to build tiny blades for the civilized world........ am just dreaming here.......... As I would like the option to actually use a normal sized special addition knife with a 3 1/2" or larger steel snob blade.

The great thing about this? Sal is going to read it!
That in itself is pretty cool........ Not that this post will make a difference, its just nice to be able to post my opinion and have it seen by all.

Now back to the popular mini knife discussion............

Have enough under 3" ers..........

I kind of feel the same about it. 3.5" is minimum nowadays for me, and 3.75 and above is preferable. I just seem to have boxes of 3 inch knives. Good ones too.

Unless it really offers something I can't get anywhere else I won't be buying more.

The larger blades are just as easy for me to carry, work better for my uses and tend to fit my hands better as well. Fortunately the laws here allow it.

I do understand the trend towards smaller knives though. Companies need to make what sells. Joe

Agree 100% Joe.

I can also legally carry about anything I want.

And find the trend in laws to allow only 2 1/2" or 3" completely insane.

Sorry, but I just don't get it.

I do get for some the Ultimate Spyderco would have a 2 1/2" blade.
I would also hope those folks are working to change their laws.

Since we are "building" the ultimate spydie, this would be mine:

A hybrid between a Para/Lil-temp:
- Para millie blade shape
- 3" length or slightly longer
- s30V or VG-10
- 4mm blade thickness
- shorter handle (better blade/handle ratio)
- Narrower lil-temp-like handle
- Blue G10
- Either compression lock or frame lock
