What`s your "ULTIMATE SPYDIE"

#1

Post by Lord vader »

For me it`s my newly acquired SS SE Harpy,I have always wanted one of these. And before ever had one, I have always considered it as the ultimate "The knife" Many people buy knives but never really find "The knife" the holy grail if you will.Tell me about your ultimate :spyder: :)

User & fixed blade

Post by JD Spydo »

I pride myself as having a great Spyderco user collection. My ultimate Spyderco user would be to snag both an SE & PE Titanium handled ATR models. I would settle for the SE because it has about 3/4ths of an inch of PE on the blade. But the Ti ATR for a user would just make my day. I'll accidentally find one and when I do I'll take the opportunity to rub it in :D

I've had both knives as collectors but they're long gone for now. The Titanium version of that knife is just a completely different folder all together. That would be my ultimate Spyderco user.

In the fixed blade category I'll take the new Temperance2

I'll split mine into three subcategories;

Holy Grail "I've always wanted one" knife; Civilian SE

Most Useful; Dodo, either SE or PE, I have both

General Purpose; Waved Delica 4

my "Ultimates" tend to be mostly practical

Hmmm,

Interesting question, no real answer to that because I'm not sure if I've found my 'grail' yet :)

But.... I have been thinking about a Titanium handled H1 bladed Persian :D :p

I think a Phoenix, I want one really bad, just can't stomach the $200 price tag right now. I am getting my $1500 tax return very soon though. :D

TI PE ATR, Full sized Persian, or a Stretch 2 would probably be perfect for me, to bad I don't own any of them.

Don't have the ultimate. Not yet anyway. :D Closest out of the box, the Stretch II. Absolute closest so far, my STR customized Stretch, lignum vitae scales over ti liners.

I can only narrow it down to three. I don't think I could pick just one, heck I did good today and narrowed it down to 4 on me and 1 in my shooting bag when I went to the range. In no order my top three are Superhawk, Police 3 SE, and Cricket SE. I love and use these 3 the most and think they are a few of the greatest among the Spyderco line up.

Captain with a combo blade. I want the recurve/hawkbill portion serrated and the front edge plain edge.

Build it and they will come.

Oh, you are referring to a knife they already make. In that case its my Endura. It screams Spyderco's mentality of form over function. Dedicated workhorse with no regard to aesthetics.

I still want a PE LH CF civilian, even though it'll just sit in my collection and be gently fondled.

As far as my ultimate spydie, the mule team comes pretty close to what I have ready to grind on a hunk of steel here (and have had for about 4 years now)... essentially a fixed blade millie. I'll have to get a pic up when my mule comes for a comparison shot.

A clipless Kopa with some sort of swirled stabilzed natural material in a deep purple and dark red color for the slabs.

My "grail" has changed a few times. It's now the CF Klotzi.
Would love to own 2 (one to carry and one to put up).

Here here, JD. I've had my sights on the ATR since first glance. Maybe Spyderco will bring it back. Sal?

Hi, first time poster long time lurker. Only have three Spydies, but for me, the Stretch 2 will take some beating. For my hand size, taste, cutting ability, man what a knife.

It will take some awesome design from Spyderco for me to retire the Stretch.
