First off, I in no want to have something replace the Civilian. I really like this knife, and carry it when I am unable to carry my Sig.
I know many people on here including me would love a large functional reversed S curved blade. While looking at my Civilian the other day I realized that Spyderco with little modification could market one. I know the Civilian comes with a tag on it saying not for everyday use. But looking at the blade, if the tip was ground down to the first large serration. The blade would be stronger since the fragile tip would be gone and full serrated reverse S blade is very functional.
What do you guys think.

DMgangl, I too love my Civilian. Like you, I carry it when I can't have my Glock in my pocket. However, the delicate looking tip on the Civilian is deceiving. It is stronger than it looks. It can be used in a pecking maneuver to allow one to escape after causing much damage. This knife is not designed as an aggressive knife but strictly as a defensive one. Do some damage and escape to live another day. Enjoy it and be safe.
ldun33,
Oh I have no doubt the blade is designed perfectly for what it is. My idea was more for having a large blade that could be used for EDC chores, cutting zip ties, rope, cardboard, and the like. I would still carry my Civilian for self defense and I wouldn't want it replaced in the line up. But after using my cricket for EDC stuff, I can see the advantage of having a larger cricket that would give more leverage. It just seemed like Spyderco could modify an already existing knife and have a hole new knife they could have on the market quickly.
