A lightweight Manix sounds right up my alley. A real teaser of a first post from Eric.

I'm a big fan of the original manix. I'm intrigued by the M2. The idea of having different versions/sprints appeals to me also. I'm sure I'll find one that's just right for me.

It's good to see Eric posting here also. Joe

We’ll have lightweights and upgraded steels to come later. We’re also working on the larger version.
Thanks for all the support on the Manix and we’re glad to have the opportunity to make another.
Oh man... these little pieces of hints are torture.

Btw, Eric, I loved the original Manix design. Best do-anything knife I've got (and I've actually got two of them... ;-) ). Congrats on a fantastic design, and on what I'm sure is turning out to be another one (the Manix 2). I do hope, and will probably hold out, to see it in something tougher than 154CM (S30V is my second favorite steel, only behind CPM D2, and slightly ahead of VG10).

Hey Eric, glad you finally posted ;)

Please will there be a version in full SpyderEdge(or at least 60% serrated) as well?

I nagged your Dad's head about it for years until the Manix got discontinued. :o :D

That would be a true workhorse

The blade thickness is slightly over 3mm. We are considering 3 edge configurations.

Sounds like a promising knife. Are there advantages using 154cm for the blade steel on the initial run?

Eric,

When you say lightweights, do you mean there's a FRN model in the future ala Dallara? Because I think that would really take the market by storm!

On another note, I think you will be pleased to know that I bought my original Manix at Bloomingdales in Manhattan 2 years ago, which is one of the most high-end department stores in New York- were talking Armani suits and fur coats. It was on a shelf with a T-mag, in a case full of "mens stuff" next to a case of $200 cufflinks and Paul Smith wallets. Goes to show that this knife is truly a work of art. Will post pics later.

*edit pics!

3 edge configurations - you'd surely back PE, CE and SE!

Talk about dealing with companies that actually listen and have their finger on the pulse of what their customers want.

Take the most awesome ergo'd knife around, offer it in slightly bigger or slightly smaller sizes, give it the smooth security of a caged ball lock, in an edge configuration of choice - perfect.

That sounds like almost every bit of feedback I have seen posted on how to make the manix more perfect has been taken on board and acted upon. What more could customers want?

Eric wrote about an 87mm Manix 2 and demonstrated a 93mm Manix 2 in Wouter's IWA video. Is this the same knife? The sizes seem too close to be a regular and mini, half the difference in size of the original Manix combo.

Would it be cost prohibitive to use CPM154 instead?

I believe that was the goal. 154cm has been a good steel for me. I'm sure this new Manix will be offered in the future with different steels and a flat grind too. It should do really well.
