I hope i will see some suprise in 2009, at least some Protos of a new MBC design, something around 3 inch. Lil Temp and Yojimbo are two of my favorites, bring us something awesome  Please Sal :spyder:

I would have to say the H-1 Spyderhawk that got so much press around here recently. Sadly the whole craze seems to have died off :( But a new Spyderhawk would just about make my year :)

Sprint Run of C83 Persian (antique ivory micarta, bone, wood handle) will make 2009 very special for me.
Also, I would love to see sprints of Dodo with caged lock and bolstered jigged bone or stag Caly3.
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I'm actually looking forward to the Chokwe more than anything else right now (unless the stop lock is nearing completion). A 4" S30V framelock with G-10 is something I've been looking for out of a good production company for a long time.

IIRC Sal said they're tooling up for it, meaning it should be ready for production sometime next year.

I have to disagree I have seen a few new people join the site to talk about the hawkbills. I think there is a strong pull for this knife.

Oh I'm not denying that people want it. I'm just saying that the major hawkbill threads aren't getting posted on as much as they used too. I don't know if you were here when the whole H-1 hawk thing started going full force, but it was quite a sight to see.

OH "Brother Slice" you are so wrong when you assume that the dream/vision/brainstorm of the H-1 Spyderhawk has died off or has been put on the back burner. Nothing my friend could be further from the truth. There are many of us who are bidding our time till we can get organized. Your memory needs to be refreshed Sir Slice because don't you recall that the General himself ( Sal Glesser) even chimed in on that one thread and seemed to be favorable about the idea. I know he wanted to reduce the curve angle but I'm sure that will be ironed out.

I SECOND what Brother Slice has said. But I don't stop short of only the vision/dream of the H-1 Spyderhawk I even want to go one further than that.
It's high time we bolster the entire SaLT Series by doing a new DYAD model in H-1 as well

Here's my vote for knife(s) of upcoming 2009
H-1 Spyderhawk and an H-1 Dyad too

Take Heart Brother Slice because we are in the first mile of a marathon. No time to stop now. BEcause "Now's The Time For a New Hawkbill" Sound familiar? H-1 Salt DYAD to follow

It sounds plenty familiar my friend ;) And how could I forget that Sal had chimed in. What I meant by dying down was that the threads in question weren't getting 100 posts per hour like it originally did. I doubt that you've forgotten that. Man that was an exciting night to be sure. As for the Dyad idea, I'm all for it. I have never had a Dyad, but based on how you rave about them, I'm sure they're fantastic. Perhaps its time that I pick one up...

An orange G-10 Lava, same size as it is now, but with a CPM-D2 blade.

My dream knife for 2009

A back-locking UK Pen Knife with a flat gray clip and a choice of orange or gray FRN scales and at least one SS liner to keep the FRN from warping so as to keep the blade centered OR:

A re-run of the Calypso Jr. in orange or gray with at least one SS liner to keep the blade centered.
A single skeletonized liner shouldn't add that much weight to the knife.

Well, I dont have an extensive collection, but have been very pleased with those models I have. I guess I would favor similar designs, i.e., rugged, heavy duty workhorses.

I began collecting Spyders after the Dodo was discontinued and would like another shot at one of those.

I understand it was quite costly to produce the Li'l Temp, so maybe a lockback version of this popular knife would make sense.
