I have an AAS Degree in Criminal Justice and am a night-shift Security Officer at a state-run Veterans' Home.
Love it and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world...except for 1 of every spydie ever made!!! :D :p

That's really cool, I work most of my days next to a yard which is now getting ready to install a car shreader, they run Puch Terex machines, so how loud is it going to get for me ?tduffydpa wrote:I've been working at scrap yard in baltimore for about 3 years now, running equipment for the last 2 1/2 or so. I run hydraulic cranes. We have 11 cranes in the yard with attachments varying- grapple, shear, or magnet. I primarily run one of our magnet cranes- a 2007 Liebherr 934 that we got about 6 months ago. The thing is nice-it's like a 80,000 pound cadillac (or i guess a BWM or mercedes being that it's a european company.)The sick thing is the ammount of fuel that it uses- on average I go through 65-70 gallons of diesel a day, and I have one of our more efficient machines.
learning it the hard way...
started working in a furniture factory about a year ago, as a carpenter (still have allot to learn).

Power engineer, otherwise an operator (they used to call us steam engineers in the old days).
Work in sour gas plant, the acid gas coming off the top of the stills is around 87% sour (H2S) at our plant. It has essentially 870 to 1000 times the concentration required to knock you down in a breath. Through the Claus process it is converted to pure elemental sulphur.

i think i should comment on this again:
if you read the first post i did about my job description i love what i do!
recently the company that i work for & i have gone through alot of bullshit that i do NOT agree with, somethings along the lines of moral issues that i dont believe in about helping people with credit card issues.
that being said a few funders have come across to me latley and are truly interested in the type of business that i do, its a simple process of what we do! we get people out of credit card debt and we charge a minimal fee & im really great at it (not to toot my own horn though)
im a soon leaving the company that makes me huge $ and doing this on my own, its a huge leap but honestly if im not happy with the company i work for anymore & my heart is truly not there anymore, i need to move on, wish me luck, i only get one life and im doing it regardless if it doesnt work!
