I've never own a Kershaw, but I've handled them quite a few times. Honestly, I don't at all care for assisted openers. I honestly think that since you have to manipulate a safety device, they're slower than the Spyderhole. They lag way behind the Waved Spydies.

A Kershaw that I like from the looks of, is the titanium framelock model in ZDP-189. Cyclone, maybe?

They are more for fun factor than speed, I can pop open any of my spydercos just as quick if not quicker than assisted/auto knives. Although I never used the safety on my leek, haven't had any problem.
