What spyderco do you regret selling?

#1

Post by Medic »

I've searched, and only saw "what do you regret not buying" and "what do you regret buying"

well what do you regret GETTING RID OF?

I've owned a lot of spyderco's, but the one that I really regret selling was the CF harpy. The blade was just so cool but it was so pretty that I rarely used it due to my EDC caly 3. I figured someone else would enjoy it more than I would, so i sold it to a nice guy up in canada.

So, what do you regret selling?

I've never sold or traded a Spydie (or any other knife) so I have no regrets in that respect. ;)
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

And I'm still keeping the harpy as a safe queen, I bought your whole package because I liked both the pink delica and the modded Caly Jr. and therefore "might as well" to get the harpy together just for the hack of it. I ended up selling the D4 and put the Caly Jr aside, but I still bring out the CF hapry to admire every once awhile. No, I'm not selling you back :p and I ain't gonna use it, it was my first spyderco that I actually keep for collection :D

My First Matriarch

#11

Post by JD Spydo »

The very first Matriarch I got back in 04 I ended up selling back in January. I was in a severe pinch for immediate $$ and I let it go for a ridiculous $120. However I did get another Matriarch in VG-10 in a trade I did a few months back but I still wish that I also had the earlier ATS-55 Matriarch. Those birds are getting rare let me tell you.
I say that the Matriarch should be considered for a Sprint run in some cool, exotic steel like the CPM D2 or one of the newer tool steels.
I hope this spurs on a fever to bring back the Matriarch in either Carbon Fiber or G-10 handle material. Well it's a good dream anyway

ATS-55 Matriarch, Meerkat, Shabaria, Snap-It, Spyderench. I was in a tight spot and selling them helped out, but I surely wish I had them back.

I would have to go with my Dodo. At least I know it went to another collector.
