Unless I read the member's post incorrectly, the new Police3 has a blade length of 4 3/8", thus it meets the 5" limit for Texas. The Military would meet the 5" limit as well. Now, that said, there are some municipalities within the State of Texas with additional laws regarding knives, so residents should look up their city's ordinances and be familiar with them.

AZ21,
Welcome to the Spyderco Forums!

I'm sorry to say, we don't currently have a Black Bladed version of the Digital Camo Millie in the works. It's the satin finish blade only.

AH, that just answered one of my Qs.
I was looking for the Digi Milli online yesterday and found ONE on ebay. The pic made it out to look black bladed and they only had that ONE pic. Guess its not black though. lol.

Is there such thing as a digital millie with a black blade in the first place?
I found 2 websites that said they would have them in stock with a black bade the end of this month. Are they wrong?

I'm sorry, they are wrong. We do not currently have that in the works.

Go for both

Post by JD Spydo »

They are both fantastic knives. But this is truly an APPLE versus ORANGE comparison and it's almost unfair to put them up as an "either/or" selection.
Because both knives have completely different designs and intended purposes.

I say to eventually get both of them. The Captain is truly a self defense jewel and the Military may be the best all-purpose design Spyderco has produced in a single bladed model.

If I was doing some serious treking and/or backpacking I would probably have both of them at my side.

I love the Military in combo edge for the main reason of it being a rope cutting machine as well as a perfect general purpose blade.

The Captain has many pragmatic uses. I had one brother on Bladeforums tell me that he discovered the Captain to be a super game skinner. I've used one to cut thick pork chops in half and it worked like a laser beam.

I say go for both.

you can't go wrong with either. It is going to depend on what you plan on using your knife for
