My NEW Caly3

#1

Post by wickedwest »

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you guys know I got my new Caly3 two days ago, Carbon Fiber, and laminated ZDP189/420J2. Holy Crap this thing is truely WICKED! I've never seen a knife that is slick, really disappears in your pocket, and is so sharp I'm affraid to open it sometime. I thought my SuperHawk was awesome, and it is, but this knife is sooo much more. I also got my Embassy this week, and it is AWESOME too, but I am so impressed with my Caly3 that it will never leave my pocket. The only one I got that even holds a candle to it is my Blue Lum Chinese folder. You guys at Spyderco are really on top of the game, and I just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work.

Congratulation, that knife is amazing, you are making me jealous... but I don´t have it unfortunately.
I am now enjoying my new Tenacious - great knife too btw.

Bye and enjoy your new :spyder:

Oh just curious... Are you going to sleep with your spydie next to you on your bedside table or is that just my case??? And if it is just my case... Am I crazy??? :D

My caly 3 is definitly my favorite knife. Although there is a special spot for my Delicas, the caly wins out in performance.

Congratulations on the Caly3, wickedwest.

I'm jealous. I love that feeling of the new knife that just "fits". You guys know what I mean.

I have been vacillating between the Caly3 and the Sage. They have a lot of similarities. The decision will be b/t handle material; G-10 v CF. As of right now, I don't own anything in either. I'm sure my mind could be made up by handling/holding (fondling) each, but the only Spyderco dealer in town only has a few Delicas and Crickets only. Either way, I'll have to wait a bit longer; no $$ for the new knife right now.

BTW: I know, I know. . . just get both and be happier.

Welcome to the forums, 712KY!

Glad to hear that people are still discovering (and loving) the wonderful Caly3. I got mine a year ago, and it's still my favorite for general carry. I have the VG-10/G-10, but there's no way in which I feel it is lacking.

I've been carrying my VG-10/G-10 Caly 3 for a couple weeks now, and love it. Unless I expect a day or trip that would involve some abuse that I don't want to subject my Caly 3 to, my Delica is going to have to get used to hanging out at home!!

712KY,
Welcome to the Forum.
If you stick with us without doubt you will get both. And both of them both worth it. Great design, excellent f&f.

wickedwest,

congrats on Caly3, it is the great knife. I EDC it for almost two years and still love. IMHO it is the beauty queen and excellent user at the same time.

Congrats Wickedwest,

The Caly 3 was the only knife that my wife ever complimented. She knew I had ordered it for my birthday and when it arrived I proudly showed it off and she said "Oh that's cool. Now this one's really nice". She does have good taste, I must say.

Congrats wickedwest, I got one about three weeks ago, and love it! Its like an ergo and scale materials upgrade from my ZDP CalyJr-perfect.

The VG-10 CalyIII is it's own kind of perfect, not better or worse, just slightly different.
