I'm not around much, but when I see acts of kindness from the people here, I wonder why I don't stay around more often.

Raven, prayers for a speedy recovery man. The work you do (and everyone else on these forums that deals w/ the same "types" he does) goes unnoticed and it's just not right. Thanks to all of you for keeping people in check.

God Bless man, get well and do your Physical Therapy!!

Raven,

I hope for your speedy recovery. I've had a couple injuries where I lost feeling to fingers/part of the hand. I regained full feeling and use of the hand. I hope the same is true for you. I'll tell you that it did take a few months post surgery to get full feeling in one of my fingers, so don't get discouraged--just keep working.

Take care and PM or email if you need something.

Hey All, Tomorrow I go for my 1st follow-up since the second surgery. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous :o . This will be the first time I get to see my hand unwrapped since June 1st.

I've been really busted up from all the years I've raced BMX and played baseball, but I've never had to have surgery for any of those injuries and was able to come back with no problem.

This feels so different and out of the norm for me. Probably one of the hardest things I've had to endure. It's very uncharacteristic for me to be inactive. I'm used to constantly moving ... racing, riding, running, training, weight lifting 5 days a week, working, patrolling ... looking for the bad guys!!! Now nothing ... EVERYTHING JUST CAME TO A SCREECHING HALT!!!

I had so many things I wanted to accomplish over the summer ... now my focus has changed to getting the use of my hand back. It's amazing how a person can take the little things for granted, like tying your shoes or opening up a bottle ... that got interesting and messy  :p .

I'm determined to use my hand again and will. It's THE WAIT that's got me so frustrated. I'M SO THANKFUL TO HAVE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE AND SUPPORTIVE FAMILY HERE. THANKFUL TO HAVE SUCH ENCOURAGING WORDS FROM YOU ALL, MY PARENTS, AND GIRLFRIEND ... GIVES ME THE COURAGE TO STAY POSITIVE ;) .

FOLKS, PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO. IT TAKES BUT A SPLIT SECOND TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER AND EVERYONE THAT SURROUNDS YOU. I KNOW THAT I'M DEALING WITH A SMALL INJURY, BUT I THINK EVERYDAY SINCE THAT INJURY HAPPENED ... I WAS LUCKY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT WORSE.

Keep yor fingers crossed with me that all goes well with the doc. I'll keep you all updated. Take Very Good Care and Be Safe Always.

God Bless :)

give yah a tip... use your arm pressed against your body to grip the bottle. Lot easier than trying to grip/support with a bad wrist. Just don't squeeze plastic bottles too hard ;)
