which do you prefer? caly3 or FFG g10 delica?
I was kinda surprised that the Delica has more fans over the Caly 3, but now that I think about it, it is a classic. I've played with both and own the CF/ZDP Caly 3. I vote for either Caly 3 over the G-10 Delica. The G-10 Delica is VERY nice though.
Also "Kaizen1" on BF, "ignoramus" on CPF & EDCF. "kaizenrei" on KF, "Kaizen" on USN.

Strong preference for the Caly III over the Delica.
(1) My forefinger can never find a comfortable place to rest on the Delica grip, the continuous curve at the front of the handle wedges my forefinger backwards; whereas my forefinger is very comfortable with the Caly.
(2) I prefer a knife that disappears in the pocket with a low-ride, low-profile clip. This the Caly does in spades.
I have given away or sold off all my Delicas and replaced them with Calys.

Exactly!!! Especially point #1. The Delica has never felt quite right in my hand. The handle of the Delica IV is more comfortable than that of its predecessors but it doesn't come close to the comfort of the Caly.Bolstermanic wrote:Strong preference for the Caly III over the Delica.

Although I like both, I'd chose the Delica G-10. It feels more comfortable in the hand, and I've always liked the Delica's overall design.
I originally purchased the Caly3 G-10 because, at the time, it was as close as you could get to a flat grind Delica with G-10. Now there's the Delica G-10 in the Spyderco inventory.
For EDC, I'd go with the Delica G-10 first and would select the Caly3 or the UK Penknife if a more discreet carry was needed.

what is the difference between the STR clip and the regular one other than looks and it titanium? does it work better?NoFair wrote:FFG Delica, but only after STR put a Ti clip on it. Still close though :D
Prefer the look of the Delica, ergos on both are excellent (pardon the light in the pic..)
Stretch II with a Ti STR clip beats them both though :p
