TAZ - Any Update on MULE #2

#1

Post by Hillbillenigma »

Probably need Kristi to answer this - Looking for any info on the status of the second run of the MULE TEAM Knife.

- Has a Steel been Chosen? If so, has it been Ordered?

- Any idea on Time Frame for production?

Thanks in advance.

Sal says we are probably looking at a CPM M4 Mule next. This was mentioned in the Bladeforums Mule thread.

Carrot - I did a Search on Sal's replies but couldn't find any stating a Steel on the Mule. Do you have a link?

I'm sure Kristi will give us the definitive answers when she has time.

I don't have a link, but I did read it there also.

Sal said it would "probably" be M4 :spyder: :D

I wouldn't be surprised nor especially disappointed if one of the other mules being worked on make it out before the M4 version. The M4 version will have to wait for production time and space at golden as opposed to the other mules which could be coming from Japan or Europe from a company that has a production slot available sooner.

If M4 is next, Great. If not, great. The steels Sal is going after will all be premium/super premium steels and I'm in it for the long run, god willing. It doesn't matter to me which one is next. Sal won't let us down. I offer up the 52100 as evidence of that. Joe

P.S. I still think Vascowear would be an excellent mule. Tougher and more wear resistant than D2. In fact, More wear resistant than all but the super premium steels without the cost or trouble heat treating it. It's still manufactured by several companies , just not the company that named it.

I don't come here as much as I should but I do evangelize Spydies on my home forum(the CGN knife forum) as much as possible.

I came here just to find out what is up with Mule2? I am completely enamored with Mule1 and am very excited about Mule2.

Cost/value is the most important thing to me about whether I buy a knife that I like but the Mule2 is different. I don't care how much it costs. I know it will be a lot more than 40$ and am sure it will be worth whatever the price is.

Another exciting thing about the Mule is all the amazing wraps and handles. I want to see a skelly VG10 or 8CR knife in regular production.

Bring on the Mules.

Still trying to locate a 52100. Every time they came up for sale on other forums I've been too late. They went for around $40-60. Anyone know where I can get one?

Which thread should we be checking to find out about the next Mule? Can we do some kind of preorder so we don't miss out?

No pre-orders, sorry. Look for a new thread, started by me. It'll be posted here and on Bladeforums in our section. We'll also post it to the main site, rotating at the top of the screen when you go to Spyderco.com.
