OFFICIAL G-10 Lava Thread

#1

Post by SimpleIsGood229 »

Howdy y'all,

Alright, here goes! Let's convince Sal that a G-10 and/or FRN Lava is necessary to the Spyderco lineup--a sprint run at the least.

So, if you want a factory G-10 and/or FRN Lava, say so!

I know Chad does! :D

(If there is already an ''official'' G-10 Lava thread somewhere else, I'll delete this; just let me know. :) )
Aloha SimpleIsGood229!

Good to see ya, and thanks for this thread...I think it is the "official who wants one" thread. :)

Sprint run would be good...and no...I want one in FRN! :p I have always had a love for the Volcano pattern and FRN. Add to that SE, and it reminds me of the "good ol' Spyderco Days"! :D However...

Ideally, I would want a Lava that has a great price point, without sacrificing QC, so that everyone can experience this lil' bugger! IF G10 will increase the cost...I say maybe. Some folks just love G10 THAT much that's why, so they'd be willing to pay more. I know FRN *might* jack it, because it would call for different machinery to mold the scales. :(

I think a China Lava running a Comp Lock with G10 scales could work and place the Lava where I'd like it to be "ideally".

Anyway, mahalo much...there is as much Lava flowing here as there is on these threads!!! :p

God bless you guys and take care!

G10 would be awesome. Many here would buy one. The main factor I believe is how many would Spyderco actually sell? FRN IMHO would definitely be the way to go. I think the Lava will have an extremely long run with FRN and colored variants.

Did not intend to sink the ship. Just my opinion.

I'd LOOOOOVE A G10 variant, but as with the sentiments above a FRN version with VG10 or H1 (more expensive) version would probably see it live longer.

I hate to say it but due to its unique design it appeals to only a small percentile of the population, and thus would never be a top seller such as the likes of the Delica.

Having said that... Sal.... I would LOVE a G10 or FRN version ..... pleeeeease :p ...... pretty pleeeeease :D

Oh yeah, if not possible, can we have the current version with TEETH :)

Aloha amen74,

No way did you sink the ship...even though this is a G10 Thread! :p Initially I had asked for FRN, but I think in terms of feasibility, SS was the way to go to introduce the Lava.

G10 I would "settle" for though. :D

God bless and thanks a lot guys...

A G-10 Lava would be an excellent idea!

Oh, count me in for G10 Lava...or FRN. Not sure which one is better. Both sound so very tempting. I do agree China G10 would be the best option as far as price and quality ratio goes. I really hope this becomes true.

Count me in...either way (FRN or G-10, no color preference), it's all good!

If they make both, I'll buy both!

If they make both variations in SE and PE, then I will be broke as ****! :D But count me in!!!

G10 or FRN would be a great evolution of this great model IMO. C'mon Sal, let us have it :D

I have to disagree, maybe it wont be like a delica, but if it was priced right it would be a big seller.

Just look at the lava's cousin the boker subcom

Alright, y'all, I added FRN to the original post. This, really, is all about kepping the Lava alive, afterall!

Sorry about the double thread. :o

I'm not a fan of FRN but I would buy at least one in orange G10 or any other type of G10. Personally I think that the Lava is one of the smartest knife designs I've ever had the pleasure of using, there are really no drawbacks to the design, it does everything well.
