Any pics of Dragonfly in pocket? How does it ride in pocket?

#1

I've got my eye on a Dragonfly (well, either a Dragonfly or a Robin) and was wondering what it looks like clipped to pocket. Does it ride high, low, in between? What does the FRN clip look like from outside the pocket? Is it as noticeable it's a knife as a standard metal clip?

I'm considering the Dragonfly over the Robin because although the Robin has the reversible clip (which I like), it looks like it would ride a little higher in the pocket than the Dragonfly, and the metal clip looks like it might be more easily and readily identified as a knife.

Are you referring to the SS or FRN version of the Dragonfly?

I normally carry my D'fly loose in the bottom of my pocket rather than clipped, so I'm not going to be much help at the moment.

I found it a little too "light" for clipped carry if that makes sense.

The Robin definitely has a bit more heft. The Dragonfly is the perfect weight to just sit in your pocket, and I also would probably not use it clipped. Robin should be fine for that though.

I have Dragonfly FRN, Walker FRN and Delica I gen. When they clipped in the pocket looks like a marker. It is not noticeable a knife.

the SS 'fly carries a bit high, but securely. if you're worried about people seeing it, try carrying IWB. (in waist band).

The clip broke off of my Dragonfly FRN so instead of sending it in for a fix, I sanded it down and attached it to my keyring!

Either would be a fine choice. The FRN D'fly would perhaps be less obvious in the pocket. But for the price I would say pick up a Robin as well. You'll like it a lot. ;)
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

It's perfect for me. I think it's a better keychain knife than the Ladybug in that I can grip the handle of the knife by itself and have my keys dangling out of the bottom of my hand rather than being stuck in my hand with the handle of the knife.

Thanks! You're right...it looks like it works for your keychain set up. I have a clipless ss cricket on mine. I'm sure the frn makes it a lot lighter than my ss cricket.

I just had a look at mine, and it does sit pretty high comparend to say a UKPK or Caly 3, but it is very light, so you don't need to use the clup if you don't want to (you could fit it in the coin pocket of a pair of jeans).

As I said in my previous post on Dragonflies, it is a great little knife - far better than what you'd first expect. Definitely worth buying.
