The Sage has my full attention. I will make a place in my currently tight budget for this one- even though my wallet will hurt for it. I believe Sal mentioned the Sage is constructed with S30V shipped to Taiwan. We know they've done good work for Sal before on the Salsa & "S" models. It looks like this may be their best effort yet. Very excited about this one. :D

Thanks for the great photos!
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I remember it having no dual steel liners.

Thanks for sharing the great photos. :D I know how much work is involved in getting a set like this together so appreciate your efforts. :) I am trying to keep my knife expenditure down right now but seeing your photos makes me realise I am going to be struggling. :(

Unfortanetely the white Dragonfly was not present at the meet. Perhaps I'll see it next week at the IWA show. I'll try and shoot a pic if possible.

All the models you mentioned are 'guesstimated' by the Spydercrew to hit the market in June/July. Mind you, these things fluctuate. In the case of the Lum Chinese Folder, for the better part of two years. :D It's the price we pay for the attention to quality and 'getting it right'. In addition, there's an issue of capacity. Sal explained a lot about production numbers. It comes down to quality. The really good makers Spyderco has been using and training over the years can be counted on one hand, in addition to the Golden plant. Some of the Japanese makers can only turn out a few thousand models per month. This means that it takes a while for the market to get saturated. The wait is worth it though!

I know I already posted to this thread once, but that was before I saw the Schempp models, the Chinese folder, the Sage, the Native 4(?), and the Wings slipjoint - these models are HOT! Keep the good work Sal and crew :D

Thanks Ken, I'm indeed still in full 'workmode'. No time yet to really reflect on my top spydies and such. Then again, if I could this 'work' for the same amount of money I'm making now, I'd switch jobs in a hartbeat!

Thanks for all the info and photos, Wouter! Good to know as I am trying to gauge and plan on my Spydie purchases for the next few months. I kind of went on a binge and need to take it easy for a few months so it's nice to hear that the summer is when we can expect these new beauties to come on out!I think aftier I pick up a g10 delica I am gonna hold out till the new lum and schempps come out!

One question I have as a newbie is, is it possible to get in on the "numbered" action? Only the first 200 of each knife is numbered, no?

You would need to become a collector club member to get a collector number. This would obligate you to purchase all the new spydies for the year. I am sure someone else(a CC member perhaps) can provide better details.

Wouter,
Are these knives really so beautiful or just on your pictures?
Now I have to add Native4 and Sage to my must have list, and I am not CF guy
I want this Native4 NOW.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Just the one... left side I think. I remember because I thought it was rather odd.

Thanks for taking the time to do this report for us. I'm really starting to like the foliage green G10 and silver clip color combo on some of these new ones.
