Too much Foliage Green?

#1

Post by Spydiman »

If you look on Catamounts site, http://spydercovt.com/ and scroll down a bit, you'll see the latest news from SHOT show. There's a lotta foliage green there, to much?

Ive been reading this forum daily, for over a year and there are many threads i keep saying I'm going to post on, but never do. So I'm sitting and thinking, "what am i waiting for, just type."

Let the posting begin.

On to G10 colors, I pick a 5th option, I like the foliage green, i don't think there is to much, but i definitely want to see more colors.

-white
-light blue
-maroon
-silver/gray
- :) and I would love to see that magical color the D4 and E4 waves are, made into G10 It almost changes depending on the lighting. Even spyderco is off by saying its Gray

It's a lot of foliage green for sure. I'm not sure that it's too much, but I would also love to see some other colors. I'd really like to see something else in the same orange G10 that the UKPK comes in. I also think a navy blue would appeal to a number of people, and a tan

I love the foliage green, but would also love to see more colors too!
such as:
navy blue
royal blue (think yojimbo)
tan
International yellow and orange
other shades of green

...hmm....I'm finding out that these handle colors are offered on some other spyderco models... Wouldn't it be great if they were offered for the majority of the models? Granted, that's a lot of work. What if there were three choices per model?

Methinks I'm getting just a bit too "fashion accessory" minded.....

+3 on Navy blue or the color blue that the ZDP Sprint Run of Delicas was in might even be better for an Endura. I have always wanted blue.

I'm diggin the foliage green.....but i also like the Navy/gray colors on the Waved E4/D4/Rescue
I prefer "discrete" colors though, desert tan would be another great "camo" color ;)

The FG is a nice change of color from black. It's not the greatest, however, and I think somebody accurately noted that it does have a bit of a "snot" hue to it. I'm a real fan of the smurfkiller blue found on the Yojimbo and the Dodo, quite frankly.

It is nice to have variety of colors, so foliage green is OK. We have already four models in this color plus limited run of Millys, with para coming soon, which will be six, so it looks like foliage green became "second black".
It would be fantastic to have more colors:
Orange UKPK looks great; I wish Caly3 would come out in orange,
Blue, like Dodo is nice,
Dark green, like Lil T,
Something with ivory micarta, may be mini or micro Persian :p :p :p :p

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

+1 for tan. I would also like to see a maroon/burgundy, or navy blue.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Not for me.

Having too much of any one color isn't possible in my opinion. Some companies have their entire line of knives with black handles, a few Spyderco models with green is a welcome change.

I don't think there's too much, but that said I wouldn't mind seeing another colour.

BTW, I don't know if anyone other than Sal or Kristi could answer this, but why foliage green?

I miss blue G10. I'd quite like to see Blue/Black or even some Red/Black G10.

A *bit* of Silver twill would be nice too.

As for Foliage Green G10. I rather dislike it, to the point where it makes me think twice about some models. I'm having difficulty believing it's a more popular G10 color than the apparently somewhat unpopular Blue G10.

Perhaps it IS more popular than Blue G10, but if it is, i can't my head around why.

I was all fired up about the Barong and Khurki... until i read that the scales would be FG G10.

Aside from the fact the color reminds me of mucus for some reason, i think the lack of Black Micarta and potential lack of polished bolsters gives them a lack of continuity with the Kris and Persian.

Tan colored G10 with a silver clip (would blend well into the pocket of khaki pants and shorts - very common wear these days) and navy blue with a black clip ( would blend well into to the pockets of darker dress and uniform pants). The FG is ok, but not my cup of EDC tea.

I would like to see some multi-colored (and I mean multiple colors) on the same knife... Sort of like the old Benchmade Ares.

That would be cool.

I like this idea as well.
730/735 is the only BM I liked, blade shape was good also.

Another vote for navy blue. It'd be great for the new Police.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.
