I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

It does tick almost all the boxes for perfect smaller EDC for me as well

This year might become expensive

Looking forward to checking it out at Leeds :D

Regarding the Sage, I think I prefer my Caly3 C113CF. As for the Superhawk, on the other hand... :D

I love the look of those knives. I just got my second Military in BG-42 and looks like I've found my next must have Spyderco. I really like carbon fiber handles and am glad to see more Spiderco knives offered in it. I know that they cost more but are worth it in my opinion.

With CPM S30V blade steel, I'd say it's made in Golden, Colorado.

I think it's made in Taiwan, blades are shipped over.

I stand corrected. Well, it wouldn't prevent me from buying one, that's for sure. The knife looks like a real winner, for those who want a Caly3-type blade and a liner lock.

PS: Maybe once they get around to putting a different lock on it (per Sal's post), I will jump on it! Liner locks are just my least favorite.

I like the Sage! Now, when can I get one?
It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.

I would have agreed before I got my Millie. I've come to appreciate liner locks much more now. Coupled with S30V blade steel, the Sage looks very interesting.

What kind of handles on the hawk?

#16

Post by PSU »

The website states that the handle of the Superhawk is G10 but I thought that it was supposed to be CF. Can anyone confirm the correct handle material? G-10 over CF is a great way to save $$$ for other Spydies.

The Sage is screaming for some green handles. CF is nice and all but some color would be nice too.

Compression lock. The handles should be carbon fiber, I haven't heard anything about a change in the design.
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

More like Mid-Cal now
