The Delicas are up on the 'bay as well. As you said, a bit pricey. I'll have to wait a while for one of those... I'm still not sure if I need one, but I know I want one.

I was not expecting these to go for over $100. Is this early sale price gouging? I mean they seem to be going for significantly more than the Caly 3.

seems like this kinda thing happens quite a lot lately... certain vendors who happen to receive new blades sooner than others sell knives at much higher prices, capitalizing on the excitement, and peoples' willingness to pay whatever is asked to get a knife sooner.

i'd rather wait until they're more widely available, then purchase them at the "competitive" prices i'm used to.

knifecenter seems to have them in stock for significantly less than what's been spotted on the 'bay...

The MSRP on the G10 E4 is 184.95, and $164.94 on the D4 hence the price being a little up there. As clovisc mentioned, they're on knifecenter for $120 and $105 each.

Welcome to the world of pain for Aussies. With the problems of exchange rates and horrendous shipping charges, us Aussies have to deal with 'gouging' all the time :D

With the lack of decent bricks and mortars around (with decent prices anyhow), we have to resort to taking risks with the trials of the Bay and with Customs.

So, those prices mentioned actually look to be on par :p with the added bonus of exchange rates on top :)

However, for those living closer to the seller..... if you NEED to get it now.... you NEED to get it NOW !!!! If I were living in the USA, I would probably make a bid for it... but that's just me ;) I am a tad impulsive that way and I just need to get it NOW

I'd love to pick up an Endura G10, but at the above-$100 price point, it's a hard sell against a Military, Para-Military and others. If the street price were in the $80-100 range, it would be much more attractive.

Perhaps but the Military and Para have always had the tip going the wrong way up for my muscle memory. I couldn't resist, I bought my first of several off of Knifecentral. I have been hoping they would make one of these for 6-7 years!!

A large internet dealer has them in stock for $118 (Endura) and $105 (Delica). --Knifecenter --

So the prices will come down from the "first on eBay" prices. I would not expect them much lower than this, however. I assume these are made in Japan, and the beating the dollar is taking will make goods made overseas more expensive than items made here (as noted, the Military).

Are they a sprint run, or limited in numbers?

They are a regular 2008 catalog item and not noted as being "limited production", as are several other models. That said, I imagine production will be considerably lower than the FRN ones, due to the price.

As for the rest, I've occasionally paid the "impatience tax" myself to get what I wanted, when I wanted it. I could probably save a hundred bucks a year just by waiting six months longer to buy certain DVDs. As long as the buyer is fully aware that's what he's doing, it's fine - his money, his choice. Fact is, no Spyderco dealer is required to sell for anything less than MSRP, doing so, and to what degree, is a business decision based on competition. So, as long as an auction listing is not worded deceptively, to make someone less than perfectly informed think that auction might be his best or only chance to obtain a given knife, and the price is MSRP or less, I might buy, I might pass, but I'd have no problem with it.

:spyder: Sal did say on the first intro thread that the g-10 d4s and e4s would be limited production, 200 units a month max same as the p'kal, street beat and civvie. So although they'll go fast they'll keep trickling in. :spyder:
