O.K. this has nothing to do with the new movie. I was out cycling today and ran across a store that had some Spydies. They had two Blackhawks that I believe were micarta. Does anyone know when these were originally made (year) and when they were discontinued? Approximatly how many, and are P/E more rare than S/E? I saw in that "Rare Spydercos" thread that I think Chinook had an Aluminum version. They were asking 95.00 for them.

Thanks for the info... I am almost sure the scales were micarta (90%) because they looked dry and fabric like. I'm going back to the store this morning to check it out further, to get some grips for my Python and also because it's been a few days since I bought a Spydie and I owe it to myself. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Any idea of the year of the Blackhawk...? sounds like a Bruce Lee movie title!

Thanks for pix! I was wrong, it is G-10. I know cause it's in my pocket right now!!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> I bought the P/E, it is the older model (Golden) Gin-1. They have a S/E also, if anyones interested contact me. It came with the orig. box. Quite old, black color logo no year on box. No warranty paper work or mini catalog. Probably didn't have it back then! They had another G-10 model I didn't recognize I think it was a C15? Anyone familiar with that #?

The Blackhawk originally came out (with an aluminum handle)in 1993. The G10 version came out in 1995.
The first SP C15 was a Bob Terzuola model with an aluminum handle. It came out in 1990. The second C15 model was made with a G10 handle and was issued in 1994. Both models have since been discontinued.
