Dear FTK,

Check the next page of the online catalogue (i.e. page 4). It is there.

Regards,

Also, both the Al and Ti versions are made in Taiwan.

Re: One-hand closing with compression-lock

For me, I own 3 knives with the compression-lock: a green Al Salsa, and one of each blade style Lil' Temperance. I find that the compression-lock can be treated a bit like the lockback for one-handed closing. My Salsa quickly became loose enough that when I engaged the compression-lock, the blade would drop down, with the choil on the blade resting against my index finger. I could then quickly flip it over and close it with my thumb. I do the same with my Lil' Temperances, except I need to add in a small wrist flick because their blades are not as loose.

Just got my Ti Salsa - what a knife! It has amazing cutting ability.

Does anyone else get 'nipped' by the compression lock?

Ti Salsa - First Impressions:

Likes:
Open Frame - easy cleaning
Adjustable Pivot
You can take it apart
Solidity
Ergonomics
Compression Frame Lock
Wire Clip
Smooth & Quiet
Quality - excellent - it must be very hard to manufacture. The tolerances are minute.
Size - fits in the coin pocket of Levis!
Huge Spydie Hole
Amazing cutting ability
Love the fact that Spyderco has been so inventive with this knife

Dislikes :
The compression lock bites me sometimes - something I may get used to.
Hard to close one handed

Not sure:
Looks - whilst I much prefer the Ti Salsa to the regular 'Pepper' variations, I'm going to have to get used to the looks.
Cobra Hood - not sure it's needed, especially as the hole is the biggest I've come across (excuse pun).
I wish the wire clip was a lower riding clip like the Meercat

What can I say? Move over small Sebenza! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
