What will be your first Spydie purchase of 2008?
Ordered in 2007 and first to arrive in 2008 is the CF Stretch.
Citadel and Chinese Lum both as next purchase on the list.

wallet? clip?
a bit off topic, but I was wondering...when you use a knife as a $$ clip, do you do that instead of a wallet, or do you still use a wallet? confused minds want to know! :)

I always carry a wallet and I have money in it. I only carry a knife as a money clip when I am someplace that may not find a knife too "hip" to carry. That way (like markg says) I can use the excuse that it's a money clip.Agent Starling wrote:a bit off topic, but I was wondering...when you use a knife as a $$ clip, do you do that instead of a wallet, or do you still use a wallet? confused minds want to know! :)

Rarely do I use a money clip at all because I just have no need to show off my cash.

Depending on how much NGK discounts from the new MSRP of the Manix, I might be looking for a PE big Manix, with some possibility of a mini (less likely). Of course, the superhawk is high on my list, and the phoenix looks gorgeous. Let's not even mention the tempting stretch II and the Ed Schempp hobbit sword, err... rock salt.

Yup, that about covers it for me as well. I'm restraining myself from grabbing too much, just in case the Superhawk makes an unscheduled entrance. The Deacon wrote:Probably whichever new model or variant's CC#d pieces hit NGK first.

Thanks for the kind words and welcome! As I said I'm waiting on my VERY FIRST Spydie!!! ...Already thinking about the "next" one...LOL! Kinda leaning to a "Harpie"... I like the Civillian (kinda' pricey???...Not quite sure about these model designations yet...)
I have had many knives over the years but for the last 25 years or so have been carrying a SAK....First a Tinker then an Adventurer..(Still carry it.)...
...Spent a few weeks in the Smoky Mountains this past summer and found myself in Smoky Mountain Knife Works (Eknifeworks) almost every day. Well, I ended up buying a couple of Gerbers and several SOG's....But I must say I'm not too knowledgeable about Spydies just yet...I'm getting the feeling that they're made in USA...Is that correct? All of them?
...Got a lot to learn!!!

I'm waiting for the Phoenix to come out.
It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.

:spyder: / Manix 83 PE / D'Allara DP PE / Native III FRN PE / Delica 4 FRN CE / Poliwog / Lava / Dragonfly FRN PE / T-Mag / Caly3 PE / Tenacious PE / Stretch II CF / Sage CF / Para-Military Foliage Green PE / Swick / Phoenix / Manix 2 PE / Persistence / Hossom Forager :spyder:
Hey Louis. If you want a serrated hawkie for edc, get a Harpy. Great knife that is much more suited to everyday use than most give it credit for and very affordable. The Civilian is strictly a SD knife - Spyderco states up front that this knife is not for general use. As far as country of manufacture, some are made in USA, some in Japan and starting this year, a couple of models in China.foxquads wrote:Kinda leaning to a "Harpie"...
