improvement on my millie!

#1

Post by kwak »

my millie an older 2 screw type that is being used every day the last 4 years developed blade play and loss of stiffness in the handle, and this one has no eccentric pivot pin.

i took the knife apart, cleaned it thoroughly

and put it back together again using 2 component epoxyresin on the stop pin as well as the nested liner ( the part that doesn't flex ofcourse)

now the lockup is back to normal and the handle and thus the whole knife is much stiffer than it ever was.

for me this definitly worked.

opinions everybody?

Good move. I myself would worry most greviously about getting resin in the wrong places, but it sounds as if you had no problems.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.
