New Guy - Long Time Spydie Fan!

#1

Post by Billy »

Hi all. I have been a knife addict for many, many years, starting with my very first Boy Scout knife and the hand-me-down fixed blade fishing knife my dad gave to me when I was about 9. I have many knives from many different manufacturers, but I always end up with at least one Spyderco in my pocket for EDC. Just love these knives!

Anyway, I just discovered these forums and am so happy to have found a bunch of other :spyder: nuts! I currently have a Delica 1 clipit (combo edge and the molded clip - my first Spyderco which has seen alot of hard use over the years), a SS PE Delica 2, Adventura and just ordered a PE Tasman Salt in black. Oh yeah, I just now (literally) found and ordered a Merlin! Whoo hoo!! :D In just the last few days I think I have become a full-on hawkbill junkie and am already planning on purchasing a yellow SE Tasman Salt as well as a Harpy.

Anyway, like I said, I'm glad to have found these forums as it seems there are alot of good people here sharing the joy of Spyderco knives!

Maarten, I stumbled onto the Merlin in an online shop in Pennsylvania. They have several other discontinued models in stock and I just missed a Matriarch that they sold on Sunday. The Merlin was the last one they had. :D :D

Hi Billy, welcome to the Spyderco Forums. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here as much as we do, the locals are always eager to talk about knives... in a friendly manner anyway :)
There's a bunch of fine knives you're having out there. Not bad at all, not bad at all... ;)

Thanks dialex (and all, once again!). The Adventura has been my daily companion for about two years now and I REALLY love that knife. After not buying any knives since that one (and my Kershaw TiNi Leek at the same time) I have just gone on a bit of a binge and bought 3 new :spyder: in one week, but I suspect the Adventura will still see lots of daily use. It just feels so perfect in my hand... :D :D
