OK, bh, we can go that way! ;)
Should I start with forumite nicknames...? Or would that be considered taking this thread to its illogical extreme? :D

A little off topic, but what is batoning? (batonning?) Not quite an acronym, but I see it here from time to time.

:spyder: batonning is splitting wood with a knife using the knife as a wedge whacking it with something heavy. :spyder:

Quiz Time - If you can decipher the following, you are a certified Spyderholic KP:

So it's not spoiled, highlight to read.

For what it's worth I'm a Law Enforcement Officer knife person, so I every day carry my concealed carry Delica 4 serrated edge in fibreglass reinforced nylon in front right pocket for martial blade craft self defense. I also keep a Swiss army knife I got at New Graham Knives, if I remember/recall correctly, front left pocket, and a plain edge G-10* United Kingdom Penknife inside waistband. By the way, I wish it was carbon fibre with ZDP-189* instead, laugh out loud! But your mileage may vary.

*Well really, it's hard to expand G-10 and ZDP, isn't it?

Translation is literal, hence the bad grammar in a couple of places, and I probably got something wrong in there...

If you are not aware of this function already - you can use google for common definitions:
Just use "define:" before your query

ZDP stands for zinc diethylphosphate, IIRC. :D

Apparently it's an additive to the steel that does something good, like make it harder.

Just a little note from your resident chemist. I guess I get a kick out of metallurgy.

Who would've thought anything of zinc could make steel harder? Chemistry is truly amazing.
