Centofante I ?

#1

Post by OnceBitten »

I dont know much about this old centofante a friend gave me. Ive looked around for pictures and info, but come up short. Anybody out there have an old centofante like it? was this the first centofante? My friend didnt want it but i sure like it. It was my EDC until the clip screws ran away :( I'd like to buy some new screws for it but they sure are tiny!

any pics, info, or opinions welcome

that model looks to have been heavily sharpened.

also, is that grip tape on the handle?

other than that, it's a very simple, sturdy knife. something that is not too easy to find.

also, try

it's a site built by a very active member of the forum, Ted. lot's of info

thanks, I'll check out that site!

Yes, my friend at work (butcher) that gave it to me said he didn't like the original shape, so he reshaped the blade. He still didn't like it, so he gave it to me. The rubber inlay was peeling out and stretched out when I got it. It was just plain wore out. So I cut a piece of rubber floor mat at work to match the recess for the inlay and glued it in. I've since really taken a liking to that knife. It's very useful, and I carried it every day.

What you have is a C-25 PBL (First generation Centofante with blue aluminum scales and plain edge) that has different handle inserts than what it came with. It originally came with blue santoprene inserts like mine in the pic below.

Hope this helps! ;) :)
