I remember these going for about 100 last November and I've never seen them go for for even half that amount! Sometimes when you sell you just get lucky, I guess...

I think it's a case of a person that refuses to be outbid, throwing all logic and reasoning out the window.
Gee, I would never do a thing like THAT!!  (LOL) :D
Well, to be honest...if I had the $ to part with, I probably would have taken a shot at that OEF Native. I've done worse. It boils down to how bad you want something.
I think it is latest.C-83 $137 and three more day to go. Discription is great "BLADE IS G-10 STAINLESS THE BEST!!! IF YOU ARE A SPYDERCO COLLECTOR THIS IS A MUST FOR YOU!!!! IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN THE 1990S I THINK? " http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1
Just for info: I am not the seller and I do not know sellers.
We need a sprint run of C-83

I was interested in the Meerkat but bids got out of hand. There really is a bit of insanity out there that I don't want to be a part of.
It's no wonder that dealers sell on eBay -- they sell for higher prices than normal discounted retail. It's amazing how some people let their emotions and competitive compulsiveness cost them so much money.
We are used to getting good deals on knives, but at the end of the day, most are still sold for under their original MSRP.

I just bought a Walker like pictured in ED Rose's post for $31 NIB, OS. Thankfully this insanity hasn't hit the gunshow circut yet. Joe

Now Darkfin get back to my Delica 4 Wave you are bidding on, and bid some more!

I just had to slap you out of that "buy-it-now" crazyness. Tell you what, you bid on my Toad, and I'll bid on your D4. :)

Yeah, I agree. I see some crazy bids. In many cases these are not rare collectible knives but the same knives you can buy at eBay "Buy it Now" prices for considerably less money.
His starting bid is $15 over MSRP.
Also, and I might be wrong but isn't this knife still being made? He says it isn't, but it's still in the Spydie online catalog.

I thought the rescues were disco'd but the drop points are still in production, right?
Either way, you can still get a rescue D'allara from NGK for half of that. Wait, scratch that, less than half even after shipping!
