Hi Alex - Yes, you are rightTough Solar is a solar cell charging the internal battery with power generated from sunlight (daylight or artificial light). Casio states that you never have to change a battery ever again. Now that is cool!
Wave Cepter is what in genral is referred to by the public as "Atomic Time". A signal is sent from an extremely accurate atomic time keeper close to Frankfurt, Germany, Colorado and a place in Japan. The signal reachs abour 2000 km and adjusts the Wave Cepter watches that recieve the signal one or twice a day. Unfortunately Europe and USA/Japan use different frequencies.
Still this technique is very, very exciting and High Tech, so it's cooler then Cool!
Hi Sam - you owe me man!!!!! :D

My G-Shock
Jur
I have always liked G-Shocks. I wore one for about two years day and night until the protective casing "rotted" and crumbled! I still have it, it is the 901 DW-5300 I can't wear it because the buttons stick out too far and catch on things.
I now have a Drummer Hawk which I was given as a present about five years ago, this is lasting well, but I do take it off now and again!
Regards Ken

Thank you Jurphaas
Hi everybody, just want to let you know that I'm in the gang. I just received from my friend forumite Jur an incredible gift: a Casio (model 2687, to be more specific). It is a wonderful watch, it has everything: the "Tough Solar" and "Waveceptor" feature - and many others, I'm still digging at.
I only have it for a couple days, but I got used to it pretty soon - it's an incredibly usefull watch - except for that time recording thing, still can't figure out what's the purpose of it :o Many thanks Jur for this amazing gift. :)

Hey Alex, congrats. Jur is a great guy, isn't he?
FWIW, I use the time recording thing to mark the beginning of a journey, to measure how much time it takes to drive or walk some place. It can be useful (what time did we leave?)
Enjoy the digital life!

Hi Greg - Hi Alex, Now hold your horses guys, I'm nothing special as it is just as with doing some volunteer work. You educate people and try to convince them to come over and join you..... That's all I'm doing. Sharing a bit here and there. There is so much to explore.
I just love this forum and the small comunity it keeps for me. I also realize how fortunate I am.
Thanks guys - You are the ones that are Great!
Greg - I still can't put any reactions on you website. A new PC is on the horizon though. I'm going for a PC and very soon the iMac will be history! :p

Resurecting this one since I just got my second G-Shock. First one was a G-3011 and after a little over 2 1/2 years it hasn't missed a beat other than needing a battery. I just got the G-7100, It's a bit thinner, and classier looking, and 10 yr. batt. :D Timex Ironman's only worked for about a year or so for me.

I recently bought my first G-Shock. Used to wear Luminox, but their chrystals kept scratching and breaking. So far the G-Shock is holding up nicely and I love the thought of not having to change batteries and always having the right time.
