Which one is better in Matial Arts? Police or Chinook?

Just can't make decision... Police seems to be better on stab and Chinook is better on slash. If I want a knife for selfdefence, which one is better?

IMHO Chinook is much better - it was created with selfdefence applications in mind. Chinook has much stronger lock and blade. One major drwaback is it's weight, but as for me it isn't so significant. If you nevertheless chose Police - take one with serrations cause plain edged Police is a pitty slasher - I've checked it by myself. I've tried some popular folders on my old boxing bag. Now bag is dead <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> but for it's price I know some about stabbing and slashing abilities of tested knives. By the way Chinook isn't such a bad stabber quite the contrary it penetrates well.

Didn't James Keating take part in the Chinook's design? If he did, then I would assume that's why it's such a rugged knife....

Police got a false blade and I think that it gives the knife terrific penetrating abilities... Also, when stab, you can push out your police straight out, seems to be better than chinook. Chinook surely has advantage on slashing, but I think stab is more frequently and seriously used in self defence.
