Theme Song? Who plays you?
If they were to make a movie about you...who would you have play you? And what would the theme song be?
I am a leaf on the wind - watch how I soar.
Something by JG Thirlwell (aka Foetus) for sure. No idea what song though.

I'd pull for Ed Norton and People are Strange, respectively.
Probably end up being some jerk and some reprehensively bad bit of noise... that's Hollywood for you.

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

After some thought I''d have to go with DI-10926 by Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel. It has a sort of false bravado to it I find very appealing with lines such as "Run the gauntlet north and south, march on up to the cannon's mouth, and yell 'I can do any god **** thing I want'". It's also done in a musical style I find very appealing, a style that Foetus shares with They Might Be Giants. It's a mash up of all major pop music genres with it's heaviest influence being from big band jazz. Unlike TMBG it has a harsh torn edge to it that contrasts harshly with the horns, finger snaps, and jazzy drum beats.
There's a recording of him performing the song live on a British "Top of the Pops" style show sometime in the 80s. It's amusing to see that even the new wavers and goth hipsters of the day don't know how to react. The song ends and everyone just sort of stares in silence.
Anyway, I think that would be my theme song, if I had to choose.

The "JD STORY" :D The Theme song would definitely be "GIMME SHELTER" by the Rolling Stones for sure
Or depending on the content of the show it might even be HELTER SKELTER off the old Beatle's White Double Album. Whoops  Guess Charlie Manson beat me to that one :D :D Good thing he never had a serrated Spyder

Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!
The Swans are okay, as is James Chance. I prefer Gira's stuff when he collaborated with Foetus on a side project entitled "Wiseblood". I've listened to a lot of the "No Wave" stuff from the early 80's and the only things I really love are Foetus and Nick Cave. The other stuff while interesting I find too unfocussed. Interestingly I find the Swans to be very reminiscent of This Mortal Coil. Glad to see someone who knows what I'm talking about.clovisc wrote:i wonder if you like michael gira and the swans.... :D
I don't purposly seak out obscure music. It just happens that some I do listen to is obscure. There's plenty I love that isn't, for example David Bowie is my second favorite musician right after Jim "Foetus" Thirlwell. It's just that when it comes to the obscure stuff it's so hard to find someone to talk to about it.

Oh! Forgot about who would play me. I would have to say Coyote Shivers as people often say I look like him. For those that don't know who he is, he's the guy with the band from Empire Records who sings "Sugar High".
