Post by Wali »

Greetings all!
I have a question about the Ronin sheath. Does the first generation sheath fit the latest Ronin?
Thanks! :D

To my knowledge, the Ronin never changed to a perceptable degree. My jaw would drop, if anyone could produce evidence to the contrary.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

although what i've heard is that all fixed Spyders have sheaths, fitted at the factory, to each knife. i know for a fact that the Hossom FB's have their sheaths fitted that way

The Ronin tip hangs up in the sheath

Post by JD Spydo »

AS much as I love the Ronin I still have a problem with the factory sheath. It seems like everytime I go to put in back into the sheath after using it the knife tip always gets hung up on the wall of the sheath :( .

It seems to me it should have either a brass sleeve or a sleeve made with something that would keep it from getting hung up.

But once that knife grew on me I have just loved it and adored it ever since. There just has to be a remedy to this problem. I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem.

JD,

The problem with the Ronin hanging up on entry into the sheath has to do with the very fine point. If you are just a little bit offaxis and the point contactcs the side, it digs in immediately. After the first time this happens, subsequent entries hang easier because of the divot from the first. Sleeving a sheath would be impractical and add to the cost.
