Poliwog Census

#1

Post by Jenner 515 »

A while back I inquired about an all black Poliwog, a pic of which had been posted from the Amsterdam Show. Nobody seemed to know if they were to be forthcoming, and it was pointed out that the regular stainless ones would have to sell real well for a black version to make its appearance. So I was just curious who had a Poliwog.

I have two.

I really like them, especially the ball bearing locks. However, I don't like the stainless handles.

I have one. Its a great little knife. If it had G10 or CF handles, it would be in my edc rotation.

If you like the Dodo, I actually think this one improves on it. :)

I have only one of these super little knives but would buy another in black. The 'wog was one of the first :spyder: s I purchased but it doesn't see much pocket time these days.

Not a fan of black bladed knives, pretty much avoid them. But I do have one of the regular Poliwogs.

I have one and think it's one of the best spyders ever. I'd get an all black one immediately!

I got one, carried it for over a year as an office knife. Worked out great, although the Lava is working a little better so I replaced it with a Lava. The Poliwog is a great knife though, the Lava's smaller and thinner profile more extreme blade angle and flat grind won in the end.

I don't own one, but was surprised by how incredibly comfortable it was when I finally held it. That's a great design.

I have one that is my every day carry. I love it. There was only one black Poliwog ever made and it is owned/carried by Eric. He told me that the price of coating them makes it cost prohibitive for production.

I'm with Wouter on this one - Poliwog is great, but Lava is a just a bit better. Still, you should own both :)

Yeah, it really bummed me out too. As cool as it looks in the picture it is twice as nice in person.
