Spyderco Dealers in Vancouver, B.C?

#1

Post by Jeff/1911 »

ATTN: British Columbia, Canada Spyderfans and others…

Next week I’ll be making a trip to Vancouver, so I wanted to get a recommendation about where the best places might be to go browsing. Who has the largest in store inventory? Who has the best prices? I’ll be staying at the Plaza Hotel on west 12th Avenue in Vancouver. Are there any shops within walking distance of this location? Thanks for any help you can provide.

SKS (aka Steve) is from Vancouver I believe...
Otherwise make a trip into Calgary, Alberta... swords.ca(Cutting Edge Cutlery Co) has a Calgary location... nice prices...

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Jeff,

The best selection is at the House of Knives in Metrotown (Burnaby), but you will pay full MSRP there. They have had the odd Marzitelli custom piece. (local knife maker)

The best prices are probably in the camping/outdoor stores along Broadway just East of Cambie.

The custom dealers have long since closed down. My favorite used to be right on Robson Street. Those were the days.

West 12th (I think the Plaza 500 is right near City Hall) is only a few blocks walk to the Broadway camping stores. You are a short bus ride into downtown too. From there, you can skytrain right to Metrotown ($2.50).

Anything else?

Hey Jeff;

I know of a couple of stores that have really good prices, like MSRP from 3-4 years ago, so figure out what that is. They don't have a great selection, but the prices are killer.

send email to paul.campbell@hushmail.com and I'll let you know where to go.

As for selection house of knifes has pretty good selection, but if you are looking for something in particular then you should call ahead first, because the chances that anyone will have things that are off beat is low.

Hey guys,

Thank you very much for the detailed response. I will be in town for a couple of days, and I just HAVE to do some knife shopping.
