Just received collector model variation:

C63GP3 Chinook 3...a few new twists, still G-10 & S30V, though.

Sorry no pics yet! :(

The Chinook 3 (yes, we've officially made it a 3) is exactly the same knife that we released earlier this year. Based upon the feedback we received from ELUs, Dealers and Distributors we decided to go ahead and assign it a new number and name as well as the official release to Collectors who accept all variations. Moving forward it will now be under the model number of C63GP3.

Also interested as to availability.........................

It does not matter which hand holds the knife, it only matters that there is a knife

I received a flat-ground Chinook II from new graham a couple of weeks ago. :D Do I understand correctly that the only difference between this and the Chinook III would be the sticker on the box? :)

I just got my collector's Chinook III. How is it different from the II? I never got a collector's II.

It depends upon when you signed up. Carefully read Taz's statement and all is clear. When the flat ground Chinook was initially released it was treated as small change by Spyderco, unworthy of a new collector's example. Most folks (except me :p ) called it the Chinook III, rather than a Chinook II with a flat grind. Spyderco has officially changed their position on the matter.

To have gotten an actually CC Chinook II, you would have had to have signed up a couple of years ago, when the Chinook II was first released. ;)
