Question about Para mil.

#1

Post by krit »

Hello everybody.
This is my first time post.
Nice to meet you all. :)
I don't know the meaning of the sign at Para's blades.
What does it mean? Is it Sal's signature?
I'm Sorry I can't UPLOAD the picture! I don't know why. :(
Thank you in advance for the answer. :)

Yes it is Sal's sign. Eric also has his own design stamp.

and welcome to the forums!

Hi Krit,

Welcome to the club.

And yes, the "sign" reads SAL if you look at it the right way!!

Knives designed by his son Eric (Manix, Poliwog, Spin, ao) have another sign. They have the letters E(ric) and G(lesser) into one "letter".

Congrats with your Paramilitary!

Thank you very much to everyone. :)
I 'm looking for this knife because my Military and Delica4 can't repay me enough, Mili was too long and too weak for Delica.
Since my first spyderco was Military,I carried it for 1 year but I think it quit big and too much for EDC.
So I bought Delica last 3 months, I hope it should be fit to me. But it doesn't.
Lock back system of Delica doesn't quit good. I feel a little blade play on vertical (feel the click noise). Is it a normal condition of lock back?
I think compressive lock should be better(Best?).
Will Para mili appropriate to me :p ?

If you like your Military, I think you'll love the ParaMilitary. The Para is just smaller (but still much larger than a Delica), and has the excellent Compression lock. I personally feel that the ParaMilitary is the best medium-sized tactical folder on the market today.

Welcome Krit,
The Para is just right for me, strong thick blade, but thin easy to hold handle, put that with my favorite lock (compression) and you have the perfect knife (almost).

If you are big on strong blades, you may also like the 83mm Manix.

Hello!

I like my Para military alot, It has a quite big handle but it is a very light knife. It took me a little time to learn the compression lock but now its very easy to use. Here you can see it with my other spydercos, BTW I bought my spydercard in Bangkok! :)

Very nice! Gunting and Terzola...do you EDC them or just display? They are so rare, but such well designed knives.

Hi Krit welcome to the forums! It is great to have another international amongst us.

The lock back has a tiny bit of up and down (vertical blade play). This is normal, side to side is bad and disfunctional.

The forum has had a bug to upload pictures for a few months now. You will have to use an outside hosting source like Photobucket.com or several others. :)
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

ZAC

Hello!
I don´t use my gunting, I think it is to large for pocket carry, I use my Terzuola occasionally, It have the sweetest sound and feel of all my folders! I simply love it, I only wish that spyderco could make another run of them, one in plain edge would be one of my dream knives. :)
