Spyderco Rigging Knife??

#1

Post by flipe8 »

Hi guys.
While at BF, I ran across a thread about Spyderco possibly coming out with a dedicated rigging knife with a marlin spike. Would anyone happen to have a pic? From what I understand, it might be more or less a concept that may never be manufactured, but I'd still love to see a pic. Thanks.

I've heard stuff about it, but can't recall ever seeing a picture.

I haven't had a decent rigging knife for 15 years, since I lost my old Buck.

I would love to see what Spyderco would do with the concept.

Have you checked into Myerchin rigging knives I have a stainless one, I believe it's the model 377. It's great! :)

Yeah there was talk of a marlin spike type knife roughly 6 months ago...either still in R&D or in the long long line waiting for a spot for production.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

I think it was going to be similar in design to the Boye sailing knives. Until Spyderco releases one, it is probably the best folding sailing knife around. Dendritic Cobalt blades are just cool :D

Why not a Spyderco/Boye collaberation.

Boye BDC blade with Spydie hole on a Spyderco frame?

The new metal lined frame should be stout enough for such a use with a spike mounted in the lanyard hole. Put on a shackle for tying use.
