My wife does (and hers is bigger  - Chinook I, the heaviest of them all). I'd say if she can, anyone does (she has a pretty slim frame, less than 120 lbs.).

BTW, congrats on your new job ;)

Congrats on the new job!

I usually have a black PE Dodo and a waved D4 (right front and left front), however I have joined the Yojimbo owner's ranks, and now depending on where I am, Yoji is right front, waved left front and if I can't bear to leave it home, Dodo in right cargo pocket!

Doc, I am catching whatever "bug" you have that causes us to carry multiple spyders/blades!!! :D

I prefer IWB carry of my daily folder......but my spyder wrench rides in my left rear pocket. (best $80.00 I ever spent)

Why cant my boss be a knife carrying nut like me - or Doc :D ??? today i have my chinook 3 and my manix and i am slowly becoming like the Doctor! haha. well ok so i have 8 more to go but ****, i dont know where i will conceal 10 spyders!!!! wow.

but for me, I think the Chinook III and the Manix have all of my needs covered. right now, i have the chinook III in a sheath on my right hip on my belt and my manix in my right front. Manix = utility cutting. Chinook III = sd

IWB, all the way.
Except, once in a while (with a low rider, only) I carry in front pocket.

bigger models are usually carried IWB or back pocket, medium models clipped to the front pocket, and the little ones are clipless in the pocket.

Mount it on your AK-47 and strap that around your back. You'll be double-MBC rated.

haha, great advice

think i will stick to sheath carry or IWB.

no one has answered my question though....does carrying a knife IWB (in my case, the chinook 3) have any detrimental affect on the knife as far as the body sweating during a days work? i just dont want my blade to rust because of salt and perspiration....

For IWB carry in my case, there's always fabric or a shirt between the knife and my skin. It's more comfortable to me, it also prevents most sweat to touch the knife. I've never encountere rust spots or damage on my knives with this carry method for more than 7 years. G10 and S30V are hardly paper or silk, they can take a little abuse. Unless you sweat acid, I am very confident that your knife will not rust.

I usually carry a 440V milie IWB , during work and some sweatie activities like rollerskating or hiking. I've sweated on it a lot, the knife is in direct contact with my skin and got no major rust problems. some little spots may appear once in a while but nothing a good cleaning can't take care of...

last note: S30V is supposed to be more rust resistant than 440V (S60V)...

i had always thought that CPMS30V was one of the best if not THE BEST knife steel on the planet... just didnt know how it held up to body sweat and rusting in those conditions...

There is no BEST knife steel, it's all dependent on what you use your knife for.

For jeans, I slash out the inside-bottom of the watch pocket, and clip the knife inside the watch pocket. Carries high, for fewer collisions/scratches and allows better access to right-front pocket.

For Summer shorts wear, Sportif Stetch Cargo Shorts (and pants) have a watch pocket that's actually a perfect 'knife pocket', measuring 2" widthX 5" depth. It easily accomodates a Manix or Strider SMF.

For really sweaty exercise, belt-carry in a sheath is probably best. I did a 24-mile trip on my bike in 90 degree weather, and my clipped-carried Manix was actually wet with sweat. No rust-pits, but I had to polish out some rust stains. S30V has good stain-resistance, but it will rust.

gud, great to know that about the pocket watch slashing.. i tried carrying my chinook and manix there in these new dockers work pants i wear daily and it fits great but when i sit down it feels odd... i am sticking to right pocket carry on these pants and on other pleated khakis, i am wearing it in the right front or back right...
