Police Tieclip owners?

#1

Post by Mr Blonde »

I was curious to see if there were any other Police Tieclip owners? Technically, it's not mine but my wife's and I had to borrow it for these pics with my new camera (Sony DSC-W50). She carries clipped to one of the dividers in her purse. She is very pleased with it; it's small; it clips to a number of accessories (purses etc...), very sharp and it's small. It came in a real jewellery box, so right from the start it felt to her like a 'real girl's knife'.

I'm not much of a tie-guy, one of the perks of working in a place where just a collar makes you the 'neat and cleancut guy'. :D I'm impressed with the edge, functional lock and that wide clip.

Anyone else have one? What do you think about it? Do you carry it as a tieclip? Anyone EDC theirs?

I got one, but haven't carried/worn it. I bought it mainly for my collection.

I suppose if i was forced to wear a tie, i would use it.

I think it might be a bit small use, i think i would probably be better off with a cricket or kiwi in my pocket.

I've got one but I don't wear it even though I'm "forced" to wear a tie everyday. I don't use tie clips or pins n' such. Besides, I always have two other knives on me anyway. I saw it on he bay for cheap so I grabbed it. Always love a bargain. ;)

Hi Wouter,
Actually, I have 2. One is unused in the box. A few years ago I pried the clip from the other one and carried it around in my pocket. I stopped because it quickly gets lost in keys and loose change, but it was quite functional for small (really small) jobs. BTW, the clip just seemed to be attached with epoxy and pried off without a mark.
Take care,
Dave

I have one, never used it. It is quite functional. I think Spydutch should have one.

The Police tie clip was the second SpyderCo product in bought. The first was my Worker. Many years ago. :)

I have one, Wouter, but i reserve it for the very special occasions to wear it on my tie.
(Very afraid to loose it, or damage it)
I have a gold Spyderco pin who i have worn on my ties a couple times though :-)

Have one, worn it quite a bit.

I probably put on a dress shirt and tie 3-4 times a month, just to clean up and get away from jeans and t-shirts. Love it for the fact that even though I can carry a larger toy clipped IWB/rear where no-one sees it, I can still use the mini police for small jobs(when the 4" carry wouldn't be appropriate).

Also have a silver tie-clip for those times when it wouldn't be right to have a knife out in plain view(like an interview).

Odd eh? work on computers, work on electronics(either at work or what folks bring me), and can do just about any job given to me(gotta love being a jack of all trades, get labeled 'mr fixit')... and yet I still clean up with slacks, dress shirt and tie.

Thanks for the responses, nice to see a couple of my fellow forumites have one of these jewels. A slightly larger folder like a Kiwi or Spin would indeed be much more useful for me. Still, the engineering is stunning. It's so tiny, opening one-handed is a challenge.
