New Rescue model

Post by Gizmo »

Sal,

I realize that it may be early to "Bug" you about new models but will next year's rescue be a new design or an upgrade of the original? Will plain edge still be an option? Any details that you can temp me with would be appreciated. I'm a police officer and carry a couple of Spydercos on every shift.

AFAIK the design hasn't been finalized yet, but the new Rescue will have a new blade shape and be partially serrated -- the serrations will be positioned in some way that is integral to the overall design of the knife. It will still be a lockback, but with a Boye indent. The handle shape will be modified to be more ergo/secure, and it will have a carbide striker. Perhaps other features as well.

I'm hoping for a 2.4" (6mm) blade version of this new Rescue to supplant the present Rescue Jr.

Will fully-serrated be an option? I don't care much for combination edges.

Hi guys, the new Rescue is more than 6 months away. No pics yet -- probably nothing until Bladeshow. Dunno if there will be a full serrations option, as there is supposed to be something special about the way the way the partially serrated edge is a design element of the blade shape.
