I have a Salt 1 also(Yellow), and really like it. Now, if they only made it in blue FRN too... (or any other non-black colour) I'd buy more ! :D

Pukko - Welcome to the party. Send us some pics of your fishing trip (and if you have any extra grouper or snapper filets you don't know what to do with send me a PM and I'll drive over and take them off your hands, hee hee!).

I use a large filet knife made by Rapala. It isn't H1 but it is long and flexible and I give it a squirt of oil/WD-40 whenever I'm finished using it.

Aloha Pukko,

Aloha and welcome!

Good on you for getting a Salt...believe me, I tried to make my Pacific rust and there was just NO way to do it.

In fact, I recently left my Salt I on the top of some rusty wire in my backyard for a few days...nothing happened in terms of corrosion or anything!!! ;)

God bless and keep us posted

I am looking forward to the trip, and now I plan on having the Salt with me, so I will let you all know, It only took overnight to show rust on my Walker last year..

Got the Salt Yesterday

Went with a Yellow Handle so I could see it in the boat easily. It is one chunk of H-1 Steel. I was suprised at the size of it, and the weight. It is much larger then the Bob Lum Chineese I carry daily. :)

I am looking forward to breaking it in right down in the Keys..

I will let you know what I think. Thank you E-bay :D

Well I put the salt to hard use in the keys, and Not a spot on it.

It is a really nice Knife I would recommend to anyone. :)

I have 2 of the knives in the Salt Series; the Pacific Salt & Salt 1. Both are excellent, excellent knives. Spyderco actually has TRUTH in their advertising!! Rare as THAT is, it is true. You will not find a better fishing knife.
