Is the Peter Herbst still available anywhere?
I suppose I should be offended, being called, sneaky AND dishonest, in less than 24 hours, but then again I do have a life, outside of a knife manufacturers forum. Being a compasionate man, I feel PITY more than anything else, rather than get angry I will wish Zenboy good luck in his own "10 post a day on a knife forum life" and pray for him, that he too will someday find a life outside of an internet knife forum. Perhaps he and the boy wonder "Brown ninja” can have some Brokeback children and live happily ever after.
I have certainly been put in my place, you BOYS are doing an excellent job of keeping the Internet free from destructive influences.
I wonder why all of the old timers are no longer here?

If this is your compassionate and piteous side, I would truly loath to see your arrogant, angry, and indignant side. I look forward to your next ebay question in 6 months or so...until then have a great day. :)sod wrote:I suppose I should be offended, being called, sneaky AND dishonest, in less than 24 hours, but then again I do have a life, outside of a knife manufacturers forum. people why don't you just drop this. yeah maybe the guy only posts when he is fixing to sell a knife on ebay, who cares.
In this thread he only asked if the Herbst was avaliable anywhere. He did not say he was selling the knife on ebay, he did not link to his auction, nor did he do anything else wrong. SO why does this have you guys so upset? How about you all just chill out and stop trying to dogpile this guy. He posted a very legitamate reason for this thread, and that was research for a fair market price for the knife. Maybe he could have done the work himself and maybe he is lazy, but so what. If you don't like his post don't respond, but for heavens sake stop trying to dogpile on the guy. It is making you all look very childish.

Let me try a different spin, folks, since I have no dog in this race.
Seems like what this guy sod does is just indirect marketing. I've seen a lot of other posts here about rare or collectible Spydercos, and their popularity, prices, etc., by people who are heavy ebay sellers and traders. Granted, I've never taken the time to see if there's a direct connection between posting content and subsequent ebay sales, but I'm not sure I see the problem.
Just my 2 cents
Dave

One measure of person is how they react under stimuli...
I can not be held responsible for others responses to this thread. The most amusing item in this whole bit of nonsense is that my initial suspicions were shaky at best, had Sod played it cool from the get go, it would be me getting dog piled and rightfully so.
Sod I deem your responses elementary at best.

Gentlemen, please drop the arguments and name calling. We're supposed to be adults here(except for some of the kids). While sod's indirect marketing may not seem appropriate to some of you, in my opinion it is perfectly within the rules, as he did not specifically point out his auction, nor did he even mention he was selling one until after the fact.
So he pops in periodically to get information, not everyone has as much free time(or insomnia it's nearly 3AM here and I should be sleeping) as some of us do, and technically that's what this forum is for, to gather information about Spyderco products. He's well within his rights, though the personal attacks I could do without.
With all due respect, please agree to disagree and let's move on.

Not at all, only unsolicited advertising would be breaking the rules of the forum. Like let's just say linking to your own ebay auction, it may be expired but he got the "positive" feedback(page 5 of his feedback).severedthumbs wrote:I am not following you on this one either
