I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.
I dislike the clip on the Caly III, as it is the same as on the UKPK, but the lock makes it ever so smooth. The Caly III should be the C100 model IMO, like the C01 Worker it is a pure utility EDC that is appreciated by many knife users.
I am probably the pickiest person EVER when it comes to folders. I only use my Manix because no other folders interest me, but this is somethiing im definitely going to pick up!
Holy Smokes!!! As many of you may know from Bladeforums, I've been away from the knife scene for quite some time. I drop by the Spyderco forum this morning, to see what's new in Spydieland, and I discover this thread. The Calypso3 is exactly what I've been looking for the last 5 years. This knife looks PERFECT. I'm totally blown away.
Now, can somebody give me some more info this knife. Weight? Release date? I feel like my Strider SNG purchase may have been somewhat premature..... I'll take two of these Calypsos, the day they become available. Okay, maybe three.
This forum didn't make my day. It made my whole year!!!!

Hey Wouter,
Why do you dislike the clip? Is it the clip itself, or just the wire clip on the model?

That is true. I usually prefer anything AMERICAN made. I had two knives with S30V and both blades were defective. I spend about two hours working with first blade, but no success and I returned to a dealer. Second was a replacement of first one and also blade had chips, but after resharpening it come out OK. I have 6 knives with VG10, so far no problem. Talking about American made steels, my preferences, as today is 154CM.

PS. caly3 I would buy with any of these steels. And this is what this thread about. Right?
