Well..Jim did it,,A great folding pocket Bowie.

If you never held one of these MBC heavyweights you're missing a great feeling..It feels perfect..looks bigger and heavier than it really is and MAN does it cut....

and it fits in your hand..

plus its a BIG fist load when wrapped up in your hand..

nice back cuts with that really cool blade..

nice job Jim!!!!and of course SPYDERCO...

You can slap with the side-flat of this knife just like a big boy...

MBC is on its way!!!

Bram! Good ta see ya back!

Picked up my Chinook from Carmel Cutlery a few weeks ago. Thick, solid, comfy and sharp as the proverbial razor. Simply wonderful. Plays some of Jim's ABC lines pretty good too (backcuts and all).

Brother you said it.I took mine to a new level,put an indexing point in the handle due to the fact that I find it a must now,and added a quick draw sheath to get it in action,also skinned two deer with it last season,and it barely needed a touch up.James Keating outdone himself.The most solid knife I ever held.Let's get him on this forum.If possible.I believe through watching his tapes and seeing what level of intelligence he possesses,his insight would send us all to a higher level of being,and save more lives

I too love my Chinook <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Real big nasty looking thing. Actually the whole MBC line is great. I am not sure if JAK would be up to another forum after some jerks runied it oover at knife forums, but it sure would be nice, the man is a wealth of knowledge.

Well - I swore I would not get any more knives this month...

Then Scorpio - my pusher - came along for a visit and he just happened to have one of these beauties with him...

Of course, I got one - this is without a doubt one of the most amazing folders I've seen to date.

Now all I have to think about is - should I carry it - or the Gunting..

Tough choices.

Gunting on the belt in a Skunkworks rig, the Chinook in the pocket.

Simple. That's what I do anyway.

My problem is that I have to wear a suit and tie to work, and when I take off my Jacket - I have to be able to conceal all that is on my belt - including a Para Ordnance P-14, folder etc...

So the skunk works sheath is not an option in real life...

I'm also a big fan of the Chinook. It doesn't seem to get a lot of press, but it's a real knife lover's knife. A true folding pocket Bowie, or maybe folding falchion. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

just got my chinook about 2 weeks ago. i collect tactical folders and this one has replaced them all. it is a big heavy sturdy knife but i hardly know it is in my pocket. i would trust my life to this knife. i look forward to purchasing more spyderco models.

Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now this is my new home, Chinook is godly, my fav blade, only heard a lill about it until my good buddy/supplier Pertinax sent me one for free to try out to see if I liked it, well he didnt get it back,lol

The most perfect knife Ive ever seen/come across.
No offence to the other Spydie blades but this one wears the crown.

All you Chin owners, send a post here with your # chinook.

And yeah, havin J Keating on this forum isnt a mabey, its a must.

As a personal favor,please try and get JAK here.I have so many questions that I need to ask.I'm no badass by any means,but I hold true to the theory of reverse grip fighting espescially with my Chinookand GryphonM-10 ,as is these are the knives I carry as well as my MOD Hornet for reverse grip fighting,was the Gunting focused on drawpoint fighting?It makes an excellent addition to the style.Thank You Bram for all you've done for us and to Spyderco for seeing what the knifelovers need to be a part of

Number 903, already been back to the shop to have the lock fixed (released under light hand preasure). I'm getting blade to liner rub now, and the opening is not as smooth as other Spyderco's. I'd opt to replace the pressure fit pins with screws, and the onesided blade pivot with a two-sided one for centering between the liners.

Love the over-all profile, ut i'm looking foward to version II.

MaNcEr, Yup... Some jerks kept flaming JAK and criticizing his methods. It got to the point were JAK said he had enough and put an end to his forum. It was a tremendous loss. I am sure there was a lot more behind the scenes stuff too.
